The City of Sunnyvale Department of Community Services-Recreation Division sponsors an annual youth oriented special event called Hands on the Arts (HOTS).  HOTS is an arts and crafts based event for youth ages 3-12 yrs. where kids can have the opportunity to participate in over 30+ arts and craft booths. This year HOTS will be on Saturday, May 15, 2010 and it's their 25th Anniversary of this fun filled youth oriented special event.

Shift choice:
a) Morning, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
b) Afternoon, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
c) All Day, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (This shift includes lunch)

This event sounds really fun, but there is a lot that must be done before we can participate. First, you must fill out an application online. Here is the link:
http://sunnyvale.ca.gov/Departments/Office+of+the+City+Manager/Community+Resources/Volunteer/6)+Hands+on+the+Arts+Sign-up.htmweeblylink_new_window
Under "If you are a new member" there should be a link saying "Click here to fill out the Hands on the Arts..."

Then, we have to schedule a group finger printing. I know, sounds pretty legit.

That is why this event is posted so much ahead of time.
Please sign up by commenting first before filling out the application so that we are able to know who is interested.

It will be held on Saturday March 20th at O.B. Whaley School (2655 Alvin Avenue) from 8:30am to 12noon.

It's what it sounds like, pickin' up trash, yay!
What more could you ask for?

At the moment, there is no limit on the number of people allowed to sign up, but please sign up ASAP so we can inform the event coordinator.

Success Inc. is a program for students who are not doing well in their classes only because they don't do their homework.
Ms. Huang from Kennedy is asking for tutors to help these students with their homework when they need it.

This is a year round thing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3pm-4pm in room 4. You can just choose to tutor any of these days. There is no commitment to be consistent if you decide to sign up for this event. Different people can sign up each time.

When signing up, please write the date and day of the week in which you are choosing.
LIMIT: ONLY 2 PEOPLE PER DAY.
Please check to see if anyone else signed up for the same day as you.

If this is still confusing check out this example:
So let's say Jeffery is free this Wednesday, to sign up, he would comment writing "Jeffery Zhang Wednesday 1/20" This means he's only signing up for that one Wednesday, and if wanted to do any other Wednesday or any other day at all, he would have to comment again with the date.

Also,
Because you won't need to be tutoring for the entire hour, you can bring some of your homework and do what you need to while waiting around. Or you can talk to Ms. Huang because she's pretty awesome.

And,
on Wednesdays, you are allowed to be late if you have a 6th period.
