Success Inc. is a program for students who are not doing well in their classes only because they don't do their homework.
Ms. Huang from Kennedy is asking for tutors to help these students with their homework when they need it.

This is a year round thing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3pm-4pm in room 4. You can just choose to tutor any of these days. There is no commitment to be consistent if you decide to sign up for this event. Different people can sign up each time.

When signing up, please write the date and day of the week in which you are choosing.
LIMIT: ONLY 2 PEOPLE PER DAY.
Please check to see if anyone else signed up for the same day as you.

If this is still confusing check out this example:
So let's say Jeffery is free this Wednesday, to sign up, he would comment writing "Jeffery Zhang Wednesday 1/20" This means he's only signing up for that one Wednesday, and if wanted to do any other Wednesday or any other day at all, he would have to comment again with the date.

Also,
Because you won't need to be tutoring for the entire hour, you can bring some of your homework and do what you need to while waiting around. Or you can talk to Ms. Huang because she's pretty awesome.

And,
on Wednesdays, you are allowed to be late if you have a 6th period.

A service opportunity!

Celebrate MLK Day by Restoring San Francisquito Creek (Palo Alto)
Saturday, January 16
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m

San Francisquito Creek, Palo Alto, CA 94301

Site Description: This unique wetland habitat provides a home to many native species, including shorebirds, waterfowl, and anadramous fish such as Steelhead trout.  Save The Bay partners with the City of Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve to restore wetlands at the mouth of San Francisquito Creek where it meets the Bay.  With the help of volunteers Save The Bay grows native seedlings in an on-site Native Plant Nursery, removes invasive plants and will plant 8,000 native seedlings along the shoreline this year.  Save The Bay is also assisting city staff and consultants with the development and implementation of the Palo Alto Bayland's long-term Restoration and Management Plan.

What to wear and bring: This volunteer work is similar to gardening - expect to get dirty! Be prepared to be outdoors for the duration of the project. Dress in layers, bring a hat and rain jacket (if necessary), and wear close-toed shoes to protect your feet. Long pants are recommended. Please bring your own full re-usable water bottle and help us cut down on plastic waste. Take precautions in wet weather with valuable items like binoculars and cameras. Our programs take place at public parks, use caution when locking valuables in your car.

Here's how it works: The team (Teams of 2) is stationed at the major entrances of Christmas in the Park and gently ask visitors if they'd care to make a donation to help support the event. It's not a pressure sale, just a gentle reminder that they need financial support from visitors.
